16 year old single malt from the excellent Edradour distillery, bottled at cask strength after enjoying a finishing period in hogshead casks that previously held Barolo wine! It was distilled back in November 2000 and bottled in May 2017 after 46 months in those Barolo hoggies. A release of 893 bottles.
Nose: Caramel, soft redcurrant and orange peel hints, a touch of flint.
Palate: Wheat crackers and zesty apple chutney, black pepper, pear and blackberries.
Finish: Chewy chocolate and toffee.
Limited edition. Handmade in Scotland's smallest distillery. It is a rare pleasure for a fortunate few.
